Grabyo teams up with Tennis Australia to expand global content offering ahead of Australian Open

As we gear up for one of Melbourne’s biggest sports events of the year, the Australian Open, Tennis Australia has partnered with Grabyo to enhance its international video content strategy and expand their digital footprint worldwide.

Grabyo, founded in 2013, boasts a vast international portfolio of major sporting leagues and sporting organisations, including the UFC on BT Sport, La Liga, MotoGP & another tennis Grand Slam, Wimbledon.

“We have seen really strong engagement from tennis fans across the Grabyo platform, and look forward to ensuring Tennis Australia connects with its global fan base more broadly than ever before.”

Elliot Renton, Senior Director & Head of Asia-Pacific at Grabyo

Grabyo’s cloud-based video platform will enable Tennis Australia’s digital and social teams to create, edit and distribute real-time video clips and live streams to multiple social and digital platforms throughout its major domestic and international events in 2019, ensuring Tennis Australia as the primary source of live content and highlights for Tennis in a packed social media environment.

Being one of the four Grand Slams on the tennis calendar, the Australian Open creates huge global interest, with last years tournament reaching over 900 million homes in over 200 countries. Through Grabyo, Tennis Australia is looking to streamline its digital workflows and scale its presence in key markets around the world, capitalising on the increasing demand for live streaming and VOD on multiple platforms and devices.

“By working with Grabyo we have created a content strategy that uniquely targets every possible market. Using this platform has given us the freedom to be creative and make great content without the concerns of distribution slowing us down.”

Key moments will be captured and shared using Grabyo Studio, a platform that aims to reduce time and resources spent producing real-time highlights, including options for custom graphics and branding, which is essential for audiences on mobile, social and OTT.

Grabyo also allows Tennis Australia to create unique broadcasts for digital fans, as well as livestreams directly to social media. The ability to create livestreams supports a community-based viewing experience, with commenting and discussion on live video a key factor in increased engagement and creating more memorable moments for a growing international tennis fanbase.
